Eat the Good Stuff this Thanksgiving!

As we roll through November like a Hurricane churning up the Atlantic, it’s almost Thanksgiving!

Wow! That came fast.

Thanksgiving is a great time to relax, enjoy food with family, and eat yourself into a nice mid-afternoon nap 🙂 Before you dive into the pies, potatoes, and Turkey!….a game plan is key to make sure Thanksgiving doesn’t ruin all your hard work at Rockstar Fitness.

Gobble-Gobble along Rockstar Nation

Eat Mindfully

  • Eat slow
  • Savor the favors
  • Pause between bits so your brain has time
  • to catch up to feel full

Use Small Plates

  • Smaller plates make sample portions to manage

Use Drinks Low in Calories

  • Water will keep you more full
  • Less sugar the better

Fill your Plate with the Good Stuff

  • 50% of plate with Veggies
  • 25% with Protein
  • 25% of starchy foods like potatoes
  • ….then the Pie or cookies….but Pick 1 not all 🙂

Most important part of the holidays is going a little overboard and knowing that this is normal and ok.

Don’t Beat Yourself Up

  • If you overeat, don’t beat yourself up.
  • Best thing you can do is make a healthy choice at your next meal to start positive momentum moving forward as soon as you can.

Have fun. Eat well. Enjoy the Family and Friends Rockstar Nation!
