Nutrition…you are What you Eat? Part 1.

Hello to another fun filled Friday and welcome back Rockstar Nation!

Today we dive into a less than exciting topic, but an important one nonetheless!

Your Stomach, and your Stomach Health.

When we think of a Fitness Friday topic we usually think of a fun tip to lose a couple pounds, move better, or keep our mind sharp….but the health of your gut or stomach is as important as any previously mentioned.

Our stomach has the ability to talk to our brains in what Uma Naidoo, M.D. calls the

“gut-brain axis”. If you have ever had butterflies in your stomach then you have experienced positive or nervous feelings produced by microbes in your stomach.

At this point you are thinking, great Jake, but how can I apply this in a simple way?

Well in true Rockstar Fitness fashion I got you!

The strength of our immune system is about 70% made up of what lies in our gut. So here is a couple Eat More Of and Eat Less Of’s:

*Eat More*

-Yogurt

-Sauerkraut

-Oats

-Beans

-Apples

-Oranges

-Different types of Green Veggies

*Eat Less*

-Processed Foods

-High in Saturated Fats

-Added Sugars

-Sausages, which may appear with Sauerkraut haha.

-Cookies
