When we think about winter we usually think about snow, cold, skiing of any kind, and having the opportunity to partake in activities that may involve more moderate conditioning efforts.
I have written about this in the past year and what a better time to refresh the mind on why our friend the bike, the row machine, slide boards, or even a couple rides on the sled can boost our fun out in white winter months.
When we think about conditioning we probably want to run the other way and do another set of Bench or Kettlebell swings….but that is not going to cut it if you want to ski 12 runs or hike a frozen mountain.
Do we have the time to ride a bike for 8 hours a week?
Most likely no, but can we ride a resistance bike in-between sets for 1 minute for 5-6 reps?? I think this is more attainable
Do we have time to cross country ski 3 miles every day? Maybe for some people, but if you are a busy professional fitting in more health how about:
*Walking up a Steep Hill or flights of stairs 3x per week for 20 minutes each session?
-Yes. Can do.
Run 10 miles a week on the icy roads on an NH winter per week??…umm that is a Cold Shot at your heart health 🙂
Now what about 60 minutes of activity 5 days a week?
*Yes we can do this.
-This can be 2-3 workouts at our home away from home, Rockstar Fitness.
-2-3 morning walks for 60 minutes a day
a. 30 minutes, and then 30 minutes at lunch or after work
Adding in 1 more activity so that can boost our heart health can be the simple solution to more fun this winter!
Have a super day Rockstar Nation.
