Consistency. Balance. Manage Outcomes
Taking time for yourselves, our families, and time to invest in things that give back to ourselves are all a part of managing the ever changing landscape of our lives.
Some pretty bold deep thoughts from me, the trainer guy…but let’s give a famous quote a shot at the same thing.
It can be said better by a much smarter person than myself, Sir Issac Newton
in the the Third Law of Motion
“For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”
This is true for throwing a medball hard off the wall and it bouncing back at you as hard or harder then you throw it, or it can be seen riding or walking at a brisk pace in the cold mornings of the granite state which will result in some extra difficulty while breathing.
As much as I would like to throw more similes at you I think it is time to make my point and it may be easier to understand than physics 🙂
Creating Balance in our Lives is an action that will result in other positive reactions with everything around us – certainly not every time, but most of the time.
Just like investing in your career to better yourself financially, pride in your job, and deserved recognition is positive or like spending time with your family to build memories, or going to a concert on Friday night with friends are all actions that lead to better reactions from your friends, family, your co-workers, but sometimes leave us tired, stressed, sleepless….or with a little headache in the morning…opposite of a fun reaction.
Developing balance can be seen as I write this email…how?
I am writing this email each week on the same day, at the same time, in the same spot every time. This has resulted in a reaction of a nice newsletter to you each week!
Building a schedule, a routine, and a positive action to every call I make or text, or strength training session allows me to balance negative reactions like not allowing myself the time to write this email, or get in a morning walk, or strength train 2-3 times per week.
- 1 missed day of walking or strength training is not a negative action. 3 days in 1 week can beÂ
- 1 cheat meal at your favorite pizza place is a positive action. Eating out 4 days a week will become an opposite reactionÂ
- Choosing a late night meeting to crush your final is an action of readiness/not sleeping to cram for the final = many things all opposite of your intentions Â
Creating balance and setting yourself up for a positive outcome or at least a lesser negative outcome is harder than said. But with a consistent plan in a smart way you will reach your goal.
- Choose positive outcomesÂ
- If missed, miss smallÂ
- Calculate less than ideal choices
- Only stray a little away from your goals
- Get back on path as soon as possibleÂ
I know very little about physics Rockstars and Headliners, but I have a plan for you to manage outcomes.
