Train with a Friend

Smarter. Faster. Think Clear

Strength training has many different benefits like bone density, muscle strength, tendon health, and both have an effect on our power and cardiovascular conditioning…but what about an increase of cognitive abilities, better test scores, quicker critical thinking, and the ability to make better decisions faster?

Yes to all!

Strength training is not just for the muscles, tendons, abs and biceps…it is also for maybe the most important muscle your brain! 🙂

A safe, appropriate and well designed program like you see here at Rockstar Fitness with me, Jake, boosts cognitive function in Headliners (adults) and youth athletes we love to call Rockstars.

The benefits below will be maximized by all that partake in a well rounded strength and conditioning program especially the young Rockstars who will get an extra boost due to your brain’s remarkable ability to have more plasticity due to age and the gift of development of puberty. These benefits of youth and strength can last until they are 25 years old!

Headliners your Brain loves Weights and Resistance training.

I was speaking with a Headliner here at Rockstar Fitness the other day and she told me how productive each afternoon was after she had a workout with me for 60 minutes.

Why is this the case?

1. Blood  Flow to the Brain
Strength training enhances blood flow to the brain, delivering more oxygen and nutrients essential for cognitive function.

2. A little thing called BDNF

This little thing that has a long name creates new brain cells and neuroplasticity to allow you to make faster connections in your meeting, sales calls, and adapt better on the fly in your next business pitch…maybe it’s the weights that make the sale haha 🙂

3. Be a Boss

Strength training can help all Headliners make boss level decisions on the fly through an increase of

-Executive Function

-Improved Memory

-More focus, attention to detail, and problem solving abilities

Rockstars are Head of the Class

The young Rockstars here have all the benefits of their powerful aging counterparts the Headliners with a boost.

The key 3 areas strength training benefits kids is:

1. Rapid Brain Development

Strength training is like a legal drug to the brain of a young athlete in puberty by flooding the brain with BDNF increases neuroplasticity leading to better memory, problem solving, and critical thinking.

2. Boost to your next Test

Our friend the dumbbell has the ability to improve

-Reasoning skills

-Focus

-Increases function in math, science and reading which is everyone’s favorite 🙂

3. Emotional Resistance

This is the last fact, but man is it maybe the most important as we take on new challenges with social media, and the consistent rush of simulation that our young Rockstars face day in and day out on a level we adults over 30 maybe can’t understand!

a. It has been proven that the positive benefits of “lifting them weights” contribute to

-Greater self-esteem

-Confidence

-Helps produce endorphins for more positive feeling which will lead to more emotional stability.

Wow! Who knew that small and big things made of rubber, getting your heart rate up, and having some fun in the gym could be a mental win for us all 🙂

Thank you for reading and as always if you like what you have read I would love to hear from you!
